15 Karat Rose Gold Carnelian Shell Cameo of Athena, Goddess of War

This gorgeous c. 1880 cameo of Athena bezel set in this collar button is referred to as a two-faced cameo because of the depiction of her own gorgeous profile and the caricature of the dragon on her helmet. The detail is superb from the plumes in her helmet to the curls around her face and tendrils below her helmet.
