Edwardian Platinum, Synthetic Ruby and Diamond Ring

The synthetic ruby is bezel set in platinum in the center of the ring. Surrounding the ruby on the flat sides are bead set, round brilliant diamonds with some filigree work with milgrain edges.

The synthetic ruby characteristics are as follows:

The eighty-four (84) diamonds measure from 1.0mm to 1.75 mm. There are two (2) diamonds that measure approximately 2.75mm each. Approximate total diamond weight is 1.26 carats. Diamond color ranges form G-H and clarity ranges from SI1 to SI2. The shank is hand engraved and pierced with a scrolled wire under gallery.

Note:

The stone pictured is not original to the piece. There was a half cabochon Lindy star sapphire stone (appraised at $200.00) which I will gladly give to the buyer of the piece. It was drab and unattractive to the setting so I had it replaced in 2000 to the current stone which was cut from a 26 gram synthetic ruby. [The cost of the raw material and intricate cutting was $720.00. Receipts are available and copies will be provided if requested.] The color of this magnificent simulated ruby is a deep red when no light enters the stone. Comes with a GIA Certified Appraisal.
