	S4209	French Sterling Silver Guilloché Enamel Snuff Box or Vanity Box with Gilt Interior Early 1900s. Gorgeous gold on 950 silver guilloché enamel round snuff or vanity box with a gold wash interior. Striking lime-colored center is surrounded by an emerald green border accented with a running gold leaf pattern with iridescent red flower buds. Stamped with the French eagle hallmark noting 18K on the gold and the head of the goddess Minerva in a cartouche with clipped corners noting the guarantee on the silver to be at least 950. Gorgeous engine-turned pattern on bottom of box. No makers mark. There appears to be dirt and breaks in the enamel in some of the photos as well as a loss of enameling in the close-up of the top in the upper right-hand quadrant. That is a reflection only. The enameling is consistent throughout with a slight fade in the outermost edges of the interior "ray" area. This is not a flaw but is in the original enamel process and is covered by a glaze.
