30330Theodor Fahrner Sterling and Marcasite Brooch. This fabulous large Fahrner brooch is presumed to be post WWII when Fahrner revived the Deco style only in a non-linear form which was characteristic of his filigree jewelry in the late 1920s to 1930s. The piece is in a style called filigree and a portion of the metalwork is called the "millegriff" technique, tiny corded wires soldered onto the sterling. The brooch has three curvilinear ribbons, two ridged and one with an open-work star pattern; all three studded with marcasites. They are "tied" together with a band of three rows of marcasites. Marked TF in circle and 925 both on an applied rectangular cartouche. Great collectible piece and a rare design. width: 1-13/16', height: 1-5/16"$ SOLDphoto
