Antique Victorian Bohemian Garnet Bangle Bracelet.
A single row of 2 mm deep rich red fiery Bohemian rose cut garnets are bead set along the back band of this hinged rosy gold gilt metal (at times referred to as "garnet gold") bangle with a v-spring closure and safety chain. The front ornamentation is a raised central floret cluster made from seven bezel set rose cut garnets ranging in diameter from 5 mm to 6 mm flanked on ends with three 2 mm bezel set rose cut garnets in a triangular pattern and flanked on top and bottom with an additional 2 mm bezel set rose cut garnets. Surrounding the floret is a gently curved frame with bead set rose cut garnets which continue along the band to meet the back. All garnets are genuine gemstones and are a rich, dark red with brilliant flashes of bright red. Marked CECH.SLOV on the interior. This is the only bracelet of this kind that I have ever seen signed! c. 1880 Continental (Bohemia, Czech Republic) in origin. interior circumference: 7-1/8"; floret cluster: length: 1-7/8", width: 3/4"; band: width: 1/8".
