Spirals of gold-plated ribbon flow from the pin. Spectacular! This piece was copied from a DeRosa brooch pictured in in "A Tribute to America" by Brunialti and Brunialti, p. 177. SK355D1 1948 to 1950 Miriam Haskell Roses Montees Russian Gold-Plated Brooch. A brilliant prong set clear round rhinestone is surrounded by five ridged petals each wired with three rows of roses montees layered over five larger ridged petals wired with four rows of roses montees. Each layer is in turn wired to a gilt brass filigree flower base with pin closure with safety catch. The gorgeous brooch carries the earliest Miriam Haskell signature, the MIRIAM HASKELL horseshoe plaque soldered to the filigree base.
